Ugly AR is only in the eye of the beholder and necessarily the shooter!:D

I shot Bill's Remington 700PSS and AR10T today. Shooting one-hole groups at 50m and one inchers at 100m was easy...so long as I shot off a bipod. Both guns were too front-heavy for me to fire without fatigue.
Conclusions: good triggers, good ammo matter. Good scopes matter even more. The shooter in all cases was the same (Oleg) and couldn't do even fractionally as well with an iron-sighted AR15. I think that a 16" HBAR in .223 with a 3.5x ACOG is in the future, because optics not only made it easier to hit a target, they made it possible to know if the target was a shoot/no-snoot.

Hey, that was a huge grin!
My question is: Why is Bill trying to avoid standing next to us?

Oleg,
Is that one of SWFA's SS scopes on the AR your holding in the group shot?
Just curious.

What kind of stock is that? Greasegun?
Nightcrawler
April 28th, 2004, 02:45 AM
Stock is for a little seen variant of the M16 that's specifically designed as a firing port weapon on a tracked vehicle. IIRC, this same variant lacks a front sight post, so the stock is only as a last-resort type deal anyway. That M16 variant is full auto only.

That version of the M-16 is known as the M231 and was developed for use with the M-2 Bradley family of vehicles.
