Guns you never shoot?

Who here has guns that you never shoot, or have never shot at all? Why or why not?
I have a Henry US Survival Rifle, .22LR. It was the first gun I ever bought, way back in 1999. In the following four and a half years, I've put maybe 50 rounds through it. It basically sat in its box (neglected, I admit) for years. The finish is worn off in one spot, and the black coating on the plastic stock is chipping off badly, but it's still in mechanically decent shape. I didn't have a .22 caliber bore rod to clean the barrel, so I fashioned one out of a coat hanger.
I keep meaning to buy a brick of .22LR and take it out and shoot it, but I never remember.

Hummmm all my pistols have at least 500 rounds through them. The only guns that have less than that are my M1A (~350) and my Remy 870 (~400).

My Swedish Mauser (M96). I've probably put around 100 rounds of Swedish military ball through it. It's a sweet shooting rifle, but 6.5x55 ammunition isn't as plentiful as I'd like it to be. Seems that's starting to change with companies such as FOM, Hotshot and S&B loading for it. Still, I think someday I'll reload for it.

My 870 almost never sees the range. With just a slug barrel on it it's kind of expensive to feed and something I've never had trouble getting on target at 25 yards. Good enough for HD. Less than 100 rounds through it.
The CETME came once, but it wouldn't go into battery. Gotta find a smith to fix it up for me or something. ZERO rounds through it.
The Steyr m95 surplus ammo I have on hand seems to be burning too hot. Won't extract properly. Need to get a reloading setup to shoot this thing. Less than 15 rounds through it. Maybe 20.
Everybody else gets to come out and play now and again.

Gun I never shoot:
American Derringer Corp .44M
Have owned this for ~20 years and fired less than 200 rounds. One barrel is close to point of aim, other is a couple feet lower at 7 yards. Full house loads are fairly slow on "double taps" or aimed pairs.:what:

My Cobray Pocket Pal.
I never plan to shoot it. It just looks too crude and unsafe, especially for .380. (I may shoot it someday with some very light .22s...but probably not)

SPAS 12 for the obvious reasons. I bought it after re-call for collection purposes, seems to be a good investiment as it is all original including sling and hook. Prices seem to be climbing slowly, I got plenty of time.

A gift from my son-in-law (NIB) over three years ago I haven't put 50 rounds through it. Just sits there in the safe being lonesome. Don't ask me why. That's just the way it is. Good shooting;)

I have a CZ 98/22 that I rarely shoot- it shoots amazingly tight but shoots about 1' high at 100 yards.

I have a S&W Model 15-1 that used to belong to my uncle. When he passed away he left it to me. I was honored as it was his duty pistol that he was issued in the late 1960s when he started working for the local police department.
The gun is in awesome shape. Rating easily at 98%. I doubt my uncle ever had to take it out of the holster. I used to take it to the range every once in a while. The S&W factory range was having one of those bring your S&W in and we'll clean it for you events, so I brought the Model 15 for them to look at. The guy doing the work took one look at it and said that if it was his, he wouldn't be firing it very often seeing how good a shape it was in. Since then it's had the honor position in my safe. I take it out from time to time to clean it up. I hear it begging to go to the range soon. I may have to oblige it soon!

I'm not a 'Wall Hanger' type. If I have it, I'm gonna shoot it.
I have been hanging on to a bunch of cheap .25 jam-o-matics and a few rusted hulks that used to be J. C. Higgins, Sears special shotguns that I don't shoot. I'm keeping them just incase some local idiot desides to throw a gun-buy-back. Depending on how much they pay, I may travel a bit to make a profit.

The other is a Colt AA2000.I spent $200 on it ten years ago.Never have shot it.It's still in the box.Maybe it'll be worth something someday. For $200 It can hang out in the safe forever.;)

My Dad bought me a Winchester commemorative back in 1967 that has never been shot, and has rarely been out of the original box. It's an Alaska Purchase Centennial in the low 3 digits. I think it was the 3rd commemorative ever released by Winchester, and there were 1,500 produced. I guess it's supposed to be worth a few bucks.
So yeah, I have one I've never shot. All the others get cycled through over the course of a year.

I have a S&W M24-3, Colt Combat Cobra, Colt Python, Kimber Custom Royal, Remington Lt-20, and a Savage 112-BT all NIB and never fired.
I have plenty others to shoot and don't worry about those staying new and unfired by me. There are several more that really haven't been fired much except maybe a half a box of ammo if that much.

Comes from your state of things, I guess. I'm at the level right now where each gun has its own purpose. I couldn't justify to myself dropping hundreds of dollars on something and never using it, being it gun, car, appliance, etc.
Not when there's college bills and my good friends at the IRS, in any case. *shrug*
Sounds like a decent minor investment, though.

Well since i got my first firearm some 35 years ago, I got a little bit of a jump on you. I learned long ago what pleases me and only go after those models. I have my working guns, but also enjoy seeking out ones strictly as toys.

Some of my surplus guns- the Yugo Mauser, No. 4 Enfield, and the Cz 52 rifle. No real reason for me to shoot them.

I won't say I 'never' shoot them, but I have a few that aren't shot very often.
Beretta Mod 21 22lr. It does ride along to the range nearly every time I go, it just doesn't get shot very often. Now that MO has CCW/Car carry, it will start seeing alot more use.
AMT Automag II. Well, it's an AMT. When it decides to play nice, it's quite fun. Most of the time though, it jams, light strikes and spits hot powder ash in your face. It gets a mag or two a year put through it, mostly out of spite.
Ruger Vaquero 45 Colt. I dunno why I don't shoot this gun more! It's very pleasant and enjoyable to shoot (Especially compared to my Redhawk .44) and rather accurate too. It is closest to my Never Shoot It gun, it only has maybe 400-500 rounds through it since I bought it in early 1996.

Lemme see. Well, I don't shoot my Colt Pocket Auto because it's more of an heirloom than anything else. I haven't shot my Ruger Redhawk .44 Mag for over 10 years, just cuz I can't find any reason to. And I don't shoot my Contender in .45-70 because I don't enjoy pain.

I have a Smith 22A that I had a red dot on for a while. I bought it new and the first time I took it out, the slide stop spring had lost it's springiness. It was fixed. I've only taken it out twice and was shooting against a new shooter shooting a rifle with iron sights at 50 and 100 yards. I just don't care for it at all... Doesn't fit my hand, doesn't feel like a quality piece, doesn't inspire confidence. But it does pretty well at 50 and 100 yards off a rest. :p
I've been thinking about selling it or trading it but the slide stop spring has failed again.

I acquired my grandfathers guns when he was begining to move after the passing of my grandmother.
I have:
a flint lock muzzle loader- gunsmith just hang it on the wall. it wasn't worh restoring or trying to make operational
1896 winchester .22short pump. The barrell linning needs to be replaced then it should be ok to fire. I haven't decided if I want to do this or not
Japanese Arisaka (I think that's what it's called). The stock is split in 3 places. Again the smith recomended not shooting it
1950 or so Mossberg .22lr trainer. This is the only one that I actually shot once it go the ok form the gun smith. However, after the first range session the saftey which is on the bolt came loose and eventually off. This resulted in a couple of 3 shot bursts. I wisely unloaded the rest of the rounds and put it back in the case. I will have this one fixed. It was fun too shoot.

NIghtcrawler,

I can agree with you, but, you must remember, it's for the children! :) .
I've got about every niche filled by now, but I still want more of what I've got. Why? For the children, whenever I find a woman to have 'em with! And the grand kids. Gotta get enough arms for me, the kids, and the grandkids. Once that's done, well, I might think my gun collection is nutty. Until then I'm just going to figure on having 24 grand children. Each one needs an MBR, shotgun, full sized pistol, and compact pistol.
That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it!

Not me but my Father in Law has a M1A unissued made by international harvistor in mint condition that has never been fired. He keeps it in a special box wraped in velvet. He does take it out ocassionaly to give it a wipe down and that is all. He said that one day all of his guns including a 21 gun collection of original M1's will be mine since I am the only one in the family that respects firearms like him.

As much as I hate to say it I have a Rockriver 6" I had built several years ago and I waited 19 Mo. for it. When It finaly arived my wants had changed and I only shot one box of ammo thru it to make sure it worked. Now it is just a safe quean, until I decide if I am sellling it.
