So how many guns are in your room?

Not counting the gun safe.

Got to counting how many guns I have in the master bedroom. I came up with single action 45 Colt hanging on the bedpost, SIG 9mm for carry when going to town, stainless steel J-Frame .38 for around the farm, wife's 38 Colt, a little .32 I forgot was there, a tactical Remington 870 with extended magazine and lever rifle in the other corner. All loaded and ready for use of course.

My gun vault is in the basement so it usually works out the one I need is down there. Thus the ones that get used stay upstairs, the others live a lonely, sad life locked up in the gun vault.

Anyone else have this problem?

No kids, bachelor, so no "safe".
In the bedroom is a wood & glass gun cabinet that holds 4 rifles, 2 handguns, and a shotgun.
There is also a rack on the wall with a rifle, shotty, and handgun on it.
There are also two handguns "conveniently placed" in two other rooms. ;)

Currently in my shop and have two within arms reach (.45 and a Judge), 5 or 6 if I move a little (.38, 9mm, 9x18, .44, .45LC). And my wife worries when I leave the garage door open late at night. I leave the house and they are locked up, otherwise, nearby, loaded and ready for use. An unloaded weapon is either an heirloom, or a tool.

AR-15 in the closet, empty chamber with a full mag inserted.

That covers the main floor. The rest are on the second floor locked up, except for the single shot 12 gauge stashed in the garage, unloaded.

I also have no kids and no one lives with me.

In my bedroom I have my whole collection... :-\ Nightstand alone has a Beretta 92FS and Sig SP2022 stainless w/ night sights, both loaded with standard pressure 124-grain Gold Dots.

Under the bed is the Daniel Defense DDM4V1, with 3 PMags and 1 Lancer loaded with XM193, in case things get real.

Only:

An M4 above the headboard of the bed.

A SIG P220 .45 on the nightstand.

A Glock 33, .357 SIG in a shoulder rig hanging next to the bed.

A Glock 22 in .40 S&W riding in a belt holster hanging from the bookshelf.

+ A 165 pound Mastiff pup snoring at the foot of the bed and doing occasional house patrols. In addition to really big teeth, he's armed with his own "chemical weapons" that'll sear a home invader's nose, induce uncontrollable vomiting and strip the tattoos right off his skin. :barf:

But inadequate as it is, I'm not worried.

If it seems like anything bad is about to happen, the safe in the closet is only five feet from my bed.

I keep the serious weaponry in there. :D

The small, cheap sheet metal gun lockers are easy to move and provide some security, certainly above not having anything. They can be screwed to a wall and floor, the screw holes are pretty easy to fill with spackling when you move.

How does it benefit me to know how well armed you are... unless I'm gathering intel?

Because of small grandkids most are in finger-tip control lock boxes mounted under a table, all are 1911's for familiarity.
