Take the camming barrel lockup and detent safety of a BHP and the trigger lockwork and barrel bushing of a 1911. Marry them together. Build one in 9mm with BHP ergos and one in .45/10mm with 1911 ergos.

I'd like to see a Kel Tec P-22 in 22 LR. With the Walther TPH's out of production, this might be a good seller, as there is nothing available right now to fill that niche.
What else...How about a S&W L-frame in .45 Colt, the return of the Browning B-92 in 357 magnum, or a new Mauser Broomhandle in modern calibers?
How about somebody making a carbine in 357 Sig? Especially a Beretta Storm? That'd be pretty cool. I'd also like to see a High Power in 357 Sig as well. Come to think of it, a P-7 in 357 would be uber-cool to boot!

Why would you want a barrel bushing on a BHP? The newer design is an improvement, I think.
I'd like to see an up-sized BHP in .45, with modern metals it's possible.
Still would like to see an Italian made DA Lightning in 38/357. Just for grins.

I'd like Colt to make Government Models like they did around 1959, both in terms of looks and quality, only with easier-to-see sights and a fractionally shorter hammer for no hammer bite.
And consider this another vote for a 10mm CZ-97B.

April 19, 2004, 01:29 AM
I was just musing the other day about the ideal backpacking gun. Take the frame off one of the really lightweight 5-shot snubbie .357 revovlers, and attach a worthwhile barrel, say 6 or 8 inches long.
The resulting handgun would be light enough to pack into the mountains without strain. It would be robust like only a revolver can be. Loaded with hot magum loads it could drop nearly any dangerous or tasty beast; with good .38 hollow points it can handle human aggression capably. The long barrel means a long sight radius which, coupled with a good single action trigger pull, would help you shoot it accurately at the longer distances encountered outdoors. All this, and did I mention it would be light enough to pack up a the side of a mountain?
The more I think about it, the more I want one. Anyone know how much it would cost to rebarrel a S&W Scandium revovler?

A GM BUL M5 with a light rail that uses out-of-the-wrapper Para Mags. And of course another M5 thats P13-sized (I'd buy one in a heartbeat), and of course, it would have to use P13 mags.
Para CCW with Companion hammer, grip and thumbsafeties.
Colt CCO (I think thats what they called them? OM frame, commander slide), without the series 80 safety.
Full-size 2nd gen Glocks with a rail. Oh yeah, new, not refurbished, 2nd gen glocks.

I'd like to see an all steel double stack 1911 with the full length extra heavy dustcover of the Baer HeavyWeight Monolith. They don't even have to manufacture the whole gun, just the frame.
In my dream world, this pistol would be able to take both the S+A mag well in addition to the S_I series pistols and would be offered by SVI.
If that's not possible, or just not challenging enough, the same gun with a Caspian-style Recon Rail would also be very nice.

I'd like to see some kind of 9mm and 40S&W carbine that took springfield XD mags.
Or a mechtech for the XD...
I'd also like to see a new manufactured mosin chambered in something modern, like 308, or even something bigger.

and heavy to CCW, hmm? it's just a toy. Ditto those with no concern for speed of repeat hitting. If all you want is a toy, why not stick to playing tiddlywinks? then we wont mistakenly count you as a "progun" voter.
Wella,
I heard you were over here..... but it looks like you're up to your old ways, picking fights for no good reason....
But regarding this "toy"... You bring the tiddlywinks when you break in to my home, and I'll bring my "toy".... and we'll have a shooting contest...

Owning several of their rimfires, and having handled and shot their centerfire pistols, I like to see CZ make a 1911 .
I'd bet dollars to pesos they'd do it right. heavy on the Forged with a dash of spring steel extractor for good measure hold the mim-ayo & plastic. And a side order of in-spec mags to go please. Wait...make that two. :D

What I'd kind of like to see is CZ bringing back the 40B with the possibility of an additional chambering in (I know I'm gonna regret saying this) 45 GAP. Now before I get jumped on :p the 40B seems to fit my hand better than even a GM 1911 as the handle extends almost the whole width of my palm. And I just can't help but think that a 45 of any kind can't be a bad thing.
