is it possible to gold inlay black micarta?

I just got back fom seeing kill bill, and It strikes me that a black 1911 with micarta grips inlayed with the Hattori Hanso sigil would be the Coolest. Autopistol. Ever.

Does anyone know if that can be done? any idea as to cost?

You couldn't do it in the normal way but perhaps you could cut a design mechanically or with laser and fill in the design with gold paint or gold leaf.
