Has anyone used this for re-finishing mags? If yes, how did it work.

Not for magazines, but on various other parts. It works well, good coverage and texture and surprisingly tough. I see no reason why it wouldn't work well on mags.

I used the black Teflon-Moly on a 1911 slide. Some portions of the slide were worn bare within a year for normal un-holstering and re-holstering.
I would think that a magazine would see more far more abuse and that the finish would wear much faster.
Just my opinion though.
