Their version of a Mountain Gun, I suppose. It had a 4", slab-sided, medium-weight barrel, inscribed "Mountaineer 1". Oh, and the muzzle had their four-hole port system on each side which leaves only about 3" of rifling in the 4" barrel. Brightly polished stainless, and green laminate(Ajax?) stocks. Anybody ever seen one before?

I haven't seen one but I did ask a Taurus sales manager about it, oh a year or so ago. Apparently it was one that was never in their catalog and was only produced for a very short time.

I'd sure like to see one, even if it was just a picture.

Slab-sided how? Like a Tracker slab-sided?

Standard round profile at the top and bottom, with a flat between 2 and 4 o'clock, and between 10-8. Not the near octagonal profile of the Tracker barrel. I didn't buy it, so no pics, sorry.

I have two ported Tauri, a .357 Tracker and a .357 titanium snubnose. The rifling goes all the way to the crown on both of them. There is no expansion chamber.
