I was looking for a S&W 4" barrel for my 686 to replace the 6" one. Does anyone have a line on a supplier?

You may check e-bay auctions, as I saw a 6" Ruger
Security-Six stainless barrel over there the other day.

Talk to Clark Custom Guns (http://www.clarkcustomguns.com/). They do a lot of custom revolver work, including fitting their match barrels to PPC guns. I know that sometimes they have parts available that they've replaced with match components, including barrels. You might call at a good time! :D

Gun Part Corporation has a 4-1/8" barrel for $113.80. Sorry, but I do not know how to do the www. thing.

Better yet, put a Clark barrel on it. The Clark on my model 27-2 is the equal of a Python barrel.

Just a warning in case you did not know.
Most people now days find it's easier and cheaper in the long run to swap guns for the length you want rather than bbl's unless your just wanting an odd length to suit taste.
