Ok,
So I got a hankerin' to get something.....bad. I'll prolly sell my FAL (I don't shoot it) to finance it. The two things I can't decide between are....

1. LMT 14.5" + Phantom FS M4 upper w/LMT BUIS. I figure I'd get my pre ban upper now, avoiding any September rushes (because there will be backlogs) and just waiting until September 14th to put it together.

OR

2. I've been thinking of getting into CAS, so I'd be looking at 2 Ruger Vaquero's (5.5" in either .357 or .44) and a Marlin 1894 (in same calber).

Now, I'm leaning towards the M4 upper mainly because it's an "evil assault weapon" and I wouldn't be surprised if soon after the AWB sunsets, something else takes it's place and I'd have to wait at least another 10 years to get one. So I thought I'd seize the window of opportunity. BUT, I'm also pretty geeked about the CAS stuff. I mean, it's just cool  .

So what would you choose (no, "get both" isn't an option right now :banghead: )?

Later,
Rich

I wouldn't worry too much about the supply of uppers out there. I anticipate that there will be a mad rush for M4 type collapsible stocks, but other than that I don't really forsee any supply shortages. If you are worried about a future ban, your money would be better spent purchasing a stripped lower to squirrel away.

Otherwise I'd but a brace of revolvers and the lever action. You'll have more fun that way. :D

Good Shooting
