Hello to all. Found this board through a link from another gun forum. Looks like a good one and you can never belong to to many. :D
I am still relatively new to most guns, so please bear with me on any less than intelligent questions I might have. Thanks.

There are six basic gun safety rules for gun owners to understand and practice at all times:
1. Treat all guns as if they are loaded.
2. Keep the gun pointed in the safest possible direction.
3. Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.
4. Know your target, its surroundings and beyond.
5. Know how to properly operate your gun.
6. Store your gun safely and securely to prevent unauthorized use.

Welcome! You'll find this board to be a bit more civil than some other gun forums, which is why I like it.
Generally, the four safety rules are the first four on racer's list, though the other two (especially #5) are very important. Don't lurk too much, feel free to post any questions you might have in the appropriate section. There is a lot of knowledge to be had here.

Thanks for the welcome guys.
Most of the guns that interest me are the WWII era guns.
Looking forward to lively discussions.

If you're interested in WWII era guns, you should consider a C&R license. I recently applied for mine. It's a great way to save money and hassle when purchasing vintage arms.
Welcome! This board has consumed most of my off time, and I suspect it will do the same to you :D

C&R license woulb be a good idea if you want to collect WW II weapons. There are some really neat rifels out there. Be forewarned, they are addictive. Last year my buddy started cololecting Mausers. Somedody said "hay man, you need a C&R". A year later i'm over at his house helping him unpack his latest UPS arrival. "Hey Mike ,how many of these old battle rifels ya have now?". "Idon't know lets count 'em". He had fourty. And that was before he added three Garands to his collection.
