Stainless Colt King Cobra

Found a used one today. Asking price in the mid $400 range. Seemed in very good shape except the action felt like it was filled with grit. Salesman said, "it just needs a good cleaning". My response, "Why didn't you clean it before it went on display?"
Anyway, IIRC these were based on the Trooper action. Those were usually pretty smooth. I'm interested but would appreciate any second and / or third opinions.
Thanks in Advance for the responses.

The only things inside the King Cobra that could cause a "gritty" action are dirt, or broken, altered, or chipped parts.
If it's really that bad, make the gunshop agree IN WRITING to take it back if somethings wrong.

Funny, the gritty feel is how I would describe how I've found the King Cobra triggers. I always thought they came like that & the owner just fixed it :uhoh:

I had a 6" stainless that was pretty smooth. It was my first gun, so my impressions may be a bit uninformed, but i found it easy to shoot accurately. I do remeber the double action was too long though. I think mid $400 might be a bit high. I see them often under $400.

$400.00 Not a bad price ,If they have a gunsmith at the shop have him check it out for you ,Could have dirt or dust in action.:)
