Thinking about getting a beavertail grip safety. I see some advertised for a .25 inch frame radius. What is a .25 frame radius exactly? I have an early SA mil spec I am wanting to put one on. Thanks.

The radius of that type of safety is .250 inchs. If you took a pencil and string and put the string on the thumb safety pin and made the string .25 inches and drew the curve with the pencil, you could see where the frame has to be cut. Wilson and Caspian safeties have a different cut and there is a Springfield cut the has a .220 radius to match the slight difference in Sprinfield's frames.

Brownell's and several others sell a jig that enables you to cut the radius yourself with either some files or a Dremel.
