What's the going price for a 19 in excellent condition?

I found a very nice 4" today, tight as a bank vault, and I'm tempted. The price seems high at $380 if I recall correctly, but I think I can talk him down.

I've already got a 6" I don't need, and it needs some company now that it's twin has gone to my Dad.

$380 in my area would mean pinned & recessed NIB

$250 is about right for, say, 95% not P&R

Price is way high, even for Northern Virginia where prices tend to run quite a bit above the rest of the country, California excepted.

Gunshop over in Bluffton , IN has a 19 with pinned barrel and recessed cylinder for $319. Looks to be in very good shape. I agree that $380 is too high.

Morgan, I've never seen 19s out here for the prices everyone else seems to pay. Wish I did. I don't know if I've ever seen one for less than $350. You can usually do OK on N-frames but that's about it.

Gunworks in Wheatridge occasionally has interesting used S&Ws, but rarely 19s.

Prices are off the scale here in WI too. I haven't seen any recently for under $400, except for that one I saw at the last gunshow that I wouldn't fire on a bet, and he wanted $275 :scrutiny:

I just paid $419 for a 2 1/2" 66 that came with the box. I wouldn't have paid that much for it, but it's had a very nice action job that I figured is worth a few extra bucks. There nice guns, I wouldn't mind a 4" 19, but I haven't seen any in the area for awhile.

Prices seem to be high around here. They vary by area. $380.00, in excellent condition, would be a fair price.

Greeting's All,

$380 is high for central DixieLand!:uhoh: $250-275 (topps)
is more like it. But, I guess it just depends on how bad one
wants that particular S&W model 19?

Best Wishes,

Only frame of reference I have is one in a local pawn shop. It's a PPC conversion. Nicely done, but still converted. Price is $300. Been there for a while. He'd probably take $225.
