This is the two tone Taurus PT92 I got several months ago and the accompanying target I shot freehand at 15yds. I have had several Beretta's over the years and really find I like this pistol better. The frame mounted safety decocker is the main reason for this. It can be carried cocked and locked like my 1911's and I really like to keep the same type of controls on my pistols, just in case tshtf so to speak.

Those are some nice pics! :)
Love that two-tone look.
How much did the PT92 cost in Your neck of the woods? It does have the built-in lock, right?
Come to think of it... would You or anyone else know if this Taurus has the "plastic" parts that the Beretta has?

Hi Jim, This pistol has no plastic. It is a limited run and yes it has the lock built in. My dealer had it listed at $440, but I got it out the door for $400 even. Hope this helps...............

That has to be one of the best looking two-tone guns I have seen. How limited of a run was it?

Flashpoint, I'm pretty sure you can still get them.

Awesome Pictures. I love the two-tone! I own a PT92AR with Rails in Stainless Steel.

Very cool looking gun...I was just gifted a 92AF....haven't seen it yet. I already have a Beretta 92 but am still looking forward to the AF since so many of you have such nice things to say about the big Taurus...and I really like the frame mounted safety...much easier to swipe down than up...

Serpico,

You will definitely fall in love with the Taurus. Are you getting a SS or Blue? But either one, a lot of people prefer the frame mounted safety on the PT92 (just like 1911's).

Here's a picture of mine:

Nice gun...it's blue with smooth wood grips and a little gold emblem...but the mags are hard to insert/release...is this normal with AFs or do I have to tweak the mag release?

On a side note, who makes some aftermarket grips...gun is in perfect shape and I may want to put the wood away and keep them nice...

Mine is neither blue, nor stainless. I do not remember what they call this finish. With the grips, it sort of has that 2 tone look. I like the Pachmayr grips a lot.http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?s=&postid=972724

Grayrock,

Its Nickel Plated. That's an unsual looking grip...looks like it's sliced... or is that a design.

rblack,

I really, really, really like your PT-92-SPL! One of the best looking stock pistols I have seen my friend! It's actually a "handsome" pistol! Have you checked into night sights for it?

Marshall, No I haven't because I have 4 other handguns with night sights and I rotate them for home defense. Thanks for the nice comments...............

T-boy- I misremember what the finish was called, but even though it could be nickel plated, it wasn't named that. The triangular area of the Pachmayr Medallion grip is a slightly elevated thumb rest. The circular part is lower in "elevation" to allow the thumb to reach the magazine release.http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?s=&postid=974344
