I recently picked up a Springfield Micro Compact 45 for $590 out the door. Any stories and opinions on the piece and the price would be appreciated.

my roomate just picked up a little green micro springer. after a few clips of break in and grip adjustment it has run perfectly for some 500 rounds.

Recoil is a little sharp, for a .45, and the recoil system seems to have two distinct stages. The barrel seems overbuilt on these little devils...

I think they look cool :D

If they are as good as the V-10, then you will have little problem. I have about 2.000 rounds through a V-10 and I've not had a single problem that wasnt directly related to crappy ammo.

I think it really depends on what you want to do with the gun. I have a 5” 1911 in 45 that I compete with and a 3” Colt 1911 45 that I carry. Like Tag says the recoil from the little gun is sharp, in fact it’s not FUN to shoot at all. Reliable (I trust my life to it) and small enough to hide, for me, it’s the perfect carry gun. But if you just wanting a gun to take to the range and have some fun shooting or something to leave on the nightstand for those things that go bump in the night, then I’d buy a full size.
