My new arrival

I picked up my Mossberg 590A1 yesterday. I'm as happy as one can be without having shot it yet.

I'm too busy to take it out any time soon, so the thing is going to sit there taunting me.

There's a lot of sticky grease to clean out of it, maybe I'll take it apart tonight and get it cleaned up.

I'm impressed with the fit and finish. The action seems a little "gummy" due to the grease, but that should clean up fine. Love the ghost rings too. The gun fits like a glove and the sights line up quick.

I'll post a range report when I get a chance to run some shells through it.

Clean it up, make sure it's clear of ammo and practice your mounting and dryfire/pump techniques. :)

Like friend and mentor Al said. Make sure it's empty, and handle it. Even a busy day has time for some practice mounts.

Thanks for the recommendations guys. This shotgun has an entirely different "feel" than my other 12 ga. (A Browning BPS)

I've been wanting another shotgun for some time. For about 2 months I couldn't decide between an 870 and the 590.

Finally decided to give the Mossberg a go. The way I see it, I couldn't go wrong with either. :)
