Arguments supporting CCW

I may be tilting at windmills, but I'm going to take a stab at getting my local Sheriffs Department to loosen up CCW issuance. I'm looking for some clear, concise information from a trusted source showing what happens to crime rates when CCWs are issued. Comparisons of no CCW vs. shall-issue, before-and-after comparisons when shall-issue laws are passed, etc. Long diatribes about "rights" won't help... they'll just be ignored and the status quo will continue. I intend to make and support an argument that issuing more CCWs will result in, at worst, no increase in crime; and will also result in more revenue to the department, so the net effect is a plus for everyone. Any ideas or input appreciated.

You might see if you can locate some stats on CCW's issued by counties above Sacramento (most do) and the percentage revoked because of crimes. Might have some "we're harmless and law-abiding" effects

Might want to read the works of Gary Kleck, Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Florida State University.
