I see that the stupid order to keep rifles unloaded is still in force...but at least they have their rifles and mags nearby: http://www.axelraben.com/sahihi/widf/default.htm

Maybe they just do that when they are not on duty. With all the bombers over there you would think they would be a little more ready to go.

MicroBalrog says > Also, what is that weird mag contraption...as far as I can tell,
> that holds only one mag and plugs the mag well...so the gun is

That is a "safe carry" rig. Under current regulations one is prohibited to
carry a rifle w/inserted magazine within the Green Line.
The "safe carry" rig is the free-market solution.

When I was there in December I didn't see any soldiers with magazines inserted. Did see quite a few of those 'safe carry' deals, though. I was impressed, there are a lot of beautiful women there.

I'll have to check my pictures from last April. I don't remember seeing the "safe carry" thing.

My secretary always wore those Jennifer Lopezesque sunglasses. When she was in the Chen, they were the style at the time.

The demands of fashion!:D

The photos are beautiful from a technical & subject standpoint. But when I saw the title....

ASHKAN SAHIHI:
WOMEN OF THE ISRAEL DEFENSE FORCES

...the first thing to pop into my mind was "Dear Penthouse, The most incredible thing happened to me while in the IDF..."

Great site, Oleg. Thanks.

Reminds me of my dad's stories of Vietnam and how he had to carry his M14 and later M16 with the chamber unloaded. Could have a mag in place, just not chambered until he was being shot at. He didn't follow that rule in the field obviously, but he said in camp, or if a particulary strict officer was with them, he'd follow the rule. Said a lot of men died because of that rule.

And, to stick with the thread, Isreali women do seem to be slightly above average on the attractive scale, especially when holding weaponry!
