I am not even a Glock fan, but I teared up a bit when I saw this...What this guy does to these glocks is a sin.

Glocks are already ugly; a Glock that fits your hand better, and feels better, but is still ugly, is a good thing.
I think a Glock 20 or 21 with a grip reduction would be about perfect.

What? Like they're somehow going to make it uglier?
If it fits someone's hand better, then this is a Good Thing. Especially with Glocks, Pretty Is As Pretty Does.

The way I figure is that if you hate your gun that much, sell it and save your money. I'm sure there is something else out there that suits you better.

You can do that yourself. Put it in the oven at 800 deg for four hours. Or is it 400 deg. for eight hours? I never can remember.

Horrible looking work.
I sure hope it functions better than it looks.

Not my cup of tea, but pretty is as pretty does (again, and for some people).
FWIW, Robar does much the same thing, and you don't hear too many people calling them "butchers":

Never thought anyone could make them uglier. I was wrong.

Chances are, if you are a Glockaholic, the idea of an aggressively ugly gun is appealing. Then, the idea of an aggressively ugly gun that is more comfortable to shoot and easier to hang on to is downrigt appealing. I wish that I did have Glock to get this done to it.
I could live without the front cocking serrations, but that's just a personal thing.

I figure if it makes it work better for the owner, great. A glock is not going to be someone's bar-b-que gun, it is what will be used when it must work. If this lets it work better for someone, great.

AH HA HA HA!!!
Oh my LORD! That was funny! I just about busted a gut (which for me is a lot of busting)!
Yeah, they're ugly.
No one's hurting my precious G17 that way!

I've heard good things about their Metacol III finish process.
I think the problem with the 'Ugly Factor' is the poor photography. They could've purtied them up a bit.
Didn't know Ron Jeremy was a Glockaholic. :)

I dont know...I dont see how thinning out and tapering the grip of a glock lends itself to a better purchase on the firearm....I suppose I would have to handle one to make a decision...I just think they look like they have been tossed into a camp fire.
I suppose if Freddy Kruger had a Glock he would want it to look like that.

I dunno. I had the grip on my M26 reduced by a friend. Looks yucky, but is much better for me to handle. YMMV

Mark Graham at ARS is the best FAL gunsmith extant. His metalcal finish is outstanding. His grip reductions may not win any beauty contests, but they work very well for those with smaller hands. Mark builds working weapons, not alter toys.

The point is not to make them prettier but to make them point better and make them more comfortable in the hand. Robar's look better but are also twice as expensive. I believe Graham worked for Robar at one point.

"Oh dear, they're making my poor beautiful Glock look different!"
I don't think the problem is so much that they're ugly. They are, but if you're shooting Glocks, the friggin' ugly boat already sailed.
I think the problem (at least from the extreme Glock fans point of view) is that they *gasp* made a Glock look different than what St. Gaston intended!
Look, there's a freaking cottage industry built around modifying the grips of Glocks, be they removing the finger grooves or reducing that ridiculous hollow hump on the back of the grip. You'd think Glock would clue in to that and make the grips smaller right from the factory.
I don't think the front cocking serrations are very attractive, nor do I see their usefulness. However, I wouldn't own a large-framed Glock WITHOUT the grip reduction.
You don't see that with other guns, even double stack .45s.

Man, I'm all for lending a hand to those enormous grips. But if you're going to do it, at least finish your product with a some fine grit sand paper or something. Can I get a little tape? Doesn't even have to be nice tape. That texture and finished product just looks atrocious and real half-assed.

I'm serious when I say when I first saw the pics
of that atrocity I thought the gun had been through a house fire or had caustic chemicals
poured on it.
Yuck :what:

Someone asked as to why Glock hasnt caught on to this "trend" of grip reduction etc...
My simple answer....not too many people want it...but a LOT of people want Glocks..."as is"..... I am one of those...and as I am not particularly a glock fan, if I did want one, I would not want one that has a black ice cream cone for a handle.
Glock is selling guns...A LOT OF GUNS....they wont fix it until the market hints that it is broken.

The poor Glocks look like they're 4th degree burn victims.

You know what? Glock could start selling their guns from the factory just as ARS modifies them to, and people'd still buy them in great quantities.
Not all Glock grip reductions are so dramatic; ones that remove the finger grooves and hump are done without trimming down the grip so it's narrower at the base than at the top.

I've never been fonda Glocks--I've always felt they were blocky, chunky, ergonomically unsound, and ugly--but most of what he's doing to these things are, IMHO, an improvement.
Except for rhino-hiding them. ( :D to whoever said it first!) Looks like he has Jackson Pollack ( I think, anyone here know art history better than me? Which means "at all"!) dribble black latex paint all over them... :what:

A closer look:

Taken from the custom Glock page (http://www.customarms.com/glockpictures.htm) at www.customarms.com .
It's certainly prettier than ARS' work, but that doesn't mean it's more functional (or less).

Now this one above is a great example of a grip reduction done right.
As for those other ones:eek:
