Here is a pic of what I did with my CZ the other day. It was at 100 yards. Prolly not the best shooting but way good for me.

i've been trying out CZs like mad ever since the CZ40 bug bit me. I must say I've been very impressed with the brand
I have a 97 with a decocker on my list, and their .22lr bolt action

BTW: Iron sights? better than I woulda done. Scope? Still better than me. HA

I was using a scope. American models don't come equipped with irons. I am a rookie at the shooting sports so I don't do quite this well every trip out. The rifle is stock. The ammo was factory stuff, federal premium 130gr BTSP. I am pretty pleased with this and all my cz purchases. Definitely accurate enough for a deer rifle.

Sirpol,
Did you try the "set" trigger during your range session?

Redhat,
I did indeed try out my set trigger. That group was shot using it. Excellent feature on an excellent rifle. I think I need to take up the fine art of handloading. Can't wait to hit the range up again.

I am also interested in buying a CZ 550 american. Just curious about what you said:
What do you guys mean by saying that the set trigger and the factory trigger?
Does this rifle come with two triggers? Or you have to buy the set trigger separately?
How do you guys evaluate the CZ 550 american compared to American rifle such as Wichester 70, Remington 700, Browning A-Bolt and Rugger 77?

ShootAndHunt,
The rifle has only one trigger but the trigger has two modes of operation. The regular tigger pull is like your basic conventional rifle trigger. The "set" feature turns the trigger into a "hair" trigger. On a CZ you just push the trigger forward till it clicks and then you have your set trigger engaged. The "set" feature comes standard on 550 models. I have no experience with the other rifles you have listed but I can say that my 550 American is one heck of a nice rifle. It has a relatively low cost, a mauser action, nice fit and finish. Some say that wood is a crap shoot as far as grain and look go, I must have been lucky because all of my CZ rifles have nice wood. The rifle is more accurate than I am.
prolly haven't helped much,
