50 Beowulf

I saw one of these rounds at a gun store today. It supposedly shoots 325 gr bullets at 1900 fps and 400 gr at 1800 fps and is in an AR-type weapon. This seems like a good idea for a semi-auto weapon with MAJOR stopping power. Has anyone fired or seen one of these? The gun store is supposed to be getting the rifle in early next week. Those of you who remember me from TFL know that I like big bores, not because of the "compensate for a small you-know-what" syndrome, but the bigger hole better chance of hitting something vital and faster they bleed to death.

I believe it is made by Alexander Arms, but do not have a link.

Seems like a good idea where close in overrides needing a flatter shooting round. But good .44 mag Levergun willl do in it's place I thnk. But if your looking for new toy (like SOCOM is....) this might be something to consider.:D
