Quick Newbie Greeting

Hello,

FNG, here.

Just wanted to say that I've been lurking for a couple of weeks now, and have learned alot from you all; although I've owned a handgun for about 15 years, I never shot it more than a few times a year, and not even that over the past few.

Society just seems to be getting stranger and stranger, and I've had this nagging feeling for awhile that it was time to stock-up in terms of hardware and training for if/when the SHTF. I live in earthquake country, and have always been prepared in terms of food, water, shelter, etc., but not enough in terms of protection. I suppose being a relatively new father has something to do with it...

Anyways, I'll be picking-up a 7-shot 870 on Friday, so I need to start looking for somewhere to try it out. I'm aware of Angeles Shooting Range, and there is an indoor range in Northridge, and another in Agoura. Gotta go see what the rules are, first. Any suggestions or tips will be appreciated.

This forum has already helped me by making me aware of West Coast Tactical; I'll be taking my new shotty there for training next month.

Glad ta meetcha.

What's a "Chunner"?

Antibubba:

El Tejon is referring to Wing Chun, a traditional Chinese martial art. Very effective in close combat as you go "toe-to-toe".

Bruce Lee was a practitoner of Wing Chun, and used much of it as a basis for his Jeet Kune Do.

HTH,

Sawdust
