Thanks to those of you who provided words of encouragement and ideas for a name. The name comes from a combination of our two last names. A couple of late nights and a crash course in web design and my Brother In Law and I now have an ok website.
Check it out if you like. The Guide Rod Section is ready to go, but there are still a few parts that need to be added. Nothing I can't cure with a couple more late nights.

The site looks good, but not as good as your grips:D

Looks like you've got a good thing goin there.

Looks good, except the fonts in the navigation buttons (Home, Services, etc.) are not anti-aliased. They look all jagged and funky. And, when you're on the Gallery page, the Gallery and Home buttons are swapped around.

The simple design and color scheme are nice.

Thanks middy.

I notice the issue with the buttons being swapped. FIxing that tonite.

I wish I had the skills and knowlege to fix the other issue. I used a program called "Yahoo Site Builder" It has been great for me as I am very inexperienced and am learning as I go. I just had to use one of the navigation bar choices given to me in the program.

Maybe someone who is a bigger nerd than I can help?

I like to support other THR members when I can. As soon as I get my first 1911 I will order some grips from you. They look awesome.

Get you a copy of a Dreamweaver program and a tutorial :D

Can do some pretty neat stuff IF you have the time to learn the program.;)

DUDE! Those grips look pretty cool in their raw, unfinished form! It'd be neat if there was a process to seal/protect that wood without giving it the typical shiny/lacquered look.

If I email some improved buttons to you, would you be able to use them?

I am a computer programmer by trade, so I could do it, but I wouldn't want you to give me administrative access to your website...

Nice dog you have there. I like the layout of the website quite a bit, it's nice.

Also, good choice on the name, I seem to remember casting my vote on that!

Sigh, if only the real voting system worked like that.

I'm a big fan of white for websites, so I really love the look. Clean, simple, and the donkey (jackass) is a fun touch. Straightforward navigation. What more could you ask for? (Other than a free set of grips in exchange for comments ;) ).

Hope it works well for you.

Tung oil.

Tung oil.

Actually tung oil is what we used on the finished set.

Maybe just one coat of tung oil would give you the look you want. I don't think it would seal the wood good enough though.

What about CZ grips? Or can Hakan make them out of that same wood?

I can't believe that cz forum comes before THR on your links page.

Just kidding, looks nice all the way around. Where did you get that great black&white donkey on the front page? Very cool pic.:)

I use a very little tung oil, wipe off the excess immediately, let it dry a day or so, and apply a very little more, then wipe off the excess again. It can be thinned with mineral spirits so you end up with less oil in the wood.

Just an update.
We aquired some fantastic new wood. Came up with the idea to offer wood scales for folks who want to just buy some scales for 1911 grips or whatever project. Also, my favorite part. People will be able to choose the exact scales of wood that they want their grips made from.

This is getting fun!
