So I've decided I wanna spice up my bone stock AR, its a RRA lower with A2 buttstock and JP 16in. upper, CAR length handguards. First off I'd like to add one of those for vertical grips that attaches to the Picatinny rails on the handguard. So I'd like some recommendations on quality replacement handguards with Picatinny rails. I've tried browsing but the shear number of parts is overwhelming. So whatta ya say?

If you just want a vertical foregrip, AAC makes a foregrip and rail combo (http://www.advanced-armament.com/ar-15.html) for <$50. I have one and it works great. Now, if you want to mount optics or multiple devices something more substantial would be in order.

What you really need is a gun bearer to carry that crew served weapon you're making. ;)

anyway, the lightfighter forums are a real good place to ask questions like this, as they seem to know everything you want to know about Ar's, and don't automatically assume you're a jerk off because you want to put a forward handgrip on your gun.

Thanks for the replies, and yes I want to add-on a vertical foregrip. Although I no longer wear camo I can definately appreciate the advantage of this type of grip in CQB situations. So tell me, are these vertical foregrips made out of solid lead? I really don't understand how this could possibly add much weight to the weapon.

Pretty much everything you need to know.
"I really don't understand how this could possibly add much weight to the weapon."
No, they weigh about as much as two rounds of ammo.
There are people who feel the need to bash other peoples AR15s every time they are mentioned. They add nothing to the thread. I think it has something to do with insecurity or being potty trained too early.
They are the philosophical descendants of the folks who think semi autos are not necessary...oh yeah, and honest men only need 10 rounds. ;)
