That might explain why French rifles like the MAS-36 had no safeties. (Niether did the Lebel or Berthier carbines.)

They just don't load 'em. No need. :evil:

Pretty good rifles, at least the 36 and the 49-56 that is, even though they're really funny looking.

Mine are as-new. Now maybe I know why. ;)
