I would like to buy a scope for this new rimfire rifle and spend less than $100. Should I get fixed or variable. It will be for hunting and plinking. What do you suggest I look at.

I can't imagine what options you have at under $100 that doesn't have 'Simmons' on it. I know Weaver rimfire scopes go foar about $110-$120.
You may as well use iron sights until you can shell out a little more for a scope.

I have a Nikon Prostaff 4x on my 452. THe scope is nice and bright, the adjustments work, and it has a lifetime warranty. It was well worth the $80 that I paid for it. I mounted mine using see through mounts so I could still take advantage of the nice iron sites on my 452. I mainly use mine for plinking and the occassional pest dispatch.

I've been looking into a CZ 452 recently and have heard nothing but good things about them. Which model did you get? I've read that a certain model (which escapes me right now) uses a European 11 mm dovetail groove that you need a special adapter for.
Also does your rifle have an adjustable trigger? If so, how has that worked out?

I got the plain jane model (military or training). I hope it does not require anything special. Anyway, the good folks in CA will not let me pick it up for 10 days.

I have a cheap Simmons 3x9x32 on my 452 Special. It suits my purposes fine (mostly plinking).
Route 66, the trigger is adjustable by a screw which you can adjust to loosen or tighten the trigger spring. The stock trigger was too heavy for my likes, so I got Eric Brooks' trigger kit, available here (http://www.cz452.com) . Works very well.

Thanks for the tip about the trigger kit from Eric Brooks. Did you do the work or is it really something a gunsmith should do? How do you like the accuracy with the scope?

The CZ-452 is a very easy gun to work on. If you can field strip your average pistol, I'm sure you can do the trigger job yourself - and the results are near-professional level.
As for accuracy, the rifle is more accurate than I am. On my best day shooting with it, I managed about a 3/4" group at 100 yds.

I took the advice from Chuck Hawk's website and put a 4X fixed power rimfire (parallax free at 50m) scope on mine. Works great for hunting rabbits and general plinking - even for 50m benchrest sometimes. I would definitely recommend a fixed power scope. The iron sights are excellent also. Don't know about your country but when I bought the rifle it came with a 5 round magazine. I bought factory 10 round magazines which are perfectly reliable. I've heard that 15 round magazines are available but have problems feeding.
Have fun with it - I adore my CZ 452 (as will my grandchildren at some point in the future).

I'll second the Weaver, but the fixed rimfire one. I put one on my Remingtom 597 and it likes that scope a lot.
