Anti-gunners' illicit illegal weapons transfer?
http://saysuncle.com/archives/002840.html#002840
|By Say Uncle|

The Second Amendment Sisters have this entry on the MMM/Brady Campaign going undercover. It seems Linda S. Vaughn, the Southeast Region's Senior Associate Director for the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence United with the Million Mom March, may have tried to bait an ad to illicit potential illegal weapons transfers. Since she left her MMM/Brady Campaign office telephone number as the point of contact, the ruse was quickly discovered.

It doesn't seem to me that any of the weapons listed were illegal (assuming they are pre-ban). It does seem to me that Linda was trying to conduct another of their studies (term used very, very loosely) on the acquisition of assault weapons.

Additionally, Linda's actions have been reported to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.

Lol that would be classic if those MMM idiots decided to use scary NFA weapons in a bait ad and then the BATFE came down on their heads and put them in pound-you-in-the-ass prison for 10 years. :p

If the B.A.T.F.E. has been informed and Agent Schmuckatelli finds out about it, justice will be done.

It might be a hoax so don't get too excited.

A poster using the name Linda Vaugh posted a series of pre-ban style rifles for sale on the Jouster.com message board at ridiculously low prices.

The telephone and other information given as a point of contact for the ads points to a registered lobbyist for the MMM named Linda Vaughn.

I saw this a couple of months back at ARF com, and they came up with the same conclusion.

I think a couple of guys actually contacted her, and wanted to send her an FFL in order to receive the weapons.

The thought occurs to me: What law is she breaking? There's nothing against posting an ad for pre-bans, and it's not illegal for her to do a face to face transfer to a resident of her state.

Now, if she intended to transfer the weapon to an out-of-state buyer without sending it to an FFL dealer, she may well end up with a stint in the FPYINTA Prison

Dosen't this sound like exactly the kind of thing that the Libocrats would make a really big media statement about?

Headlines like: GOP GROUP ATTEMPTS TO PURCHASE ASSUALT WEAPONS !
or LINKS FOUND IN "BANNED ASSUALT WEAPONS " DEALS TO THE GOP.

Of course, there would be NO coverage at all, and NO retraction when it was found to be LEGAL, or a HOAX..

Additionally, Linda's actions have been reported to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.

This I do not agree with. No one should ever be turned in to those bastids.

I remember the furor over Sarah's buying a rifle for a relative and how that was supposedly illegal and the CCKRBA was or did report her for an alleged violation.

Which is just spiteful and stupid. To do that gives a cretain justification of the existence of these odious laws.

Maybe if they deal with the alphabet guys they won't be so eager to support them.

Just a thought.

I get that but the benefit of having a few anti's woken up to the realities of fed law enforcement is outweighed by the increase in power of the agency.

When the ATF can point to hardcore gunners and say "See even they think the laws are good"

And just getting thrown to the beast does not automatically mean that the antis will go pro gun or pro freedom even just a bit.

If the anti-firearms agendists wanted to "get firearms off the street" and also support American businesses, they would simply buy a firearm every day, cut it in two, and turn it in to the police department for destruction. Of course, this would entail spending some money and some time so don't count on this idea catching on any time soon.

Agreed--BATFEces won't do anything about this. There is nothing favorable to them to do anything.

Perhaps a better route for disclosure would be "Lobbyist for anti-gun group investigated in internet fraud with interstate firearms commerce scam".

Some days I just wake up devious.
