I keep seeing Egyptian Mausers listed for sale as C&R rifles, yet these rifles where made in Yugoslavia for the Egyptian military for the 1956 Suez crisis.

Okay, a little math here...

2003-1956=47

47<50

therefore Egyptian Mauser not C&R eligible?

A couple of weeks ago I sent in my paperwork to get my C&R license, now when it gets here if I decide to order one of these mausers and have it shipped to my door am I going to be in trouble?

Firearms are generally added to the C&R list by one of two methods. Being 50 years old OR being designated as a C&R by ATF. Anyone that has a firearm and thinks it should be a C&R can submit the paperwork to ATF and let them make a determination.

BATF's C & R list includes the Yugo M48, which is what the Egyptian Mauser is. But, due to the date of manufacture, some dealers will not sell them as a C & R. Others will since they're on the list. Since the M48 IS on the list, if I wanted one I'd look around for a dealer willing to sell as a C & R and not worry about it.

I think that they can be bought from online dealers as C&R's, so it would have to be legal.
No way that they would sell something illegally and risk doing time over it.
