Well I just couldn't help myself.
I have a few handguns but no long guns, so when I saw the mint (possibly unfired it's THAT clean) Underwood M1 Carbine with original GI sling, it just had to come home with me.
The wood is perfect, all the moving parts still have what appears to be the original factory light oil, and there's only one magazine. But when the dealer said "it's yours out the door for $395" I did the deed.
I know very little about the M1 Carbine. Millions made, Underwood being the most prolific, .30 Cal 110 grain FMJ at 1950 fps, not especially accurate, still held in Government stocks as a "contingency weapon".
So did I get hosed, or is $395 for a mint example fair.
Thanks
