Both, but I voted small semi-auto since when I'm currently carrying most concealed in pocket it's a Seecamp in an Aker pocket holster.
Otherwise and pocket-wise, it could be another small auto or a revolver.

You could always carry one in a pocket and one on your ankle.
P32s are small enough to carry two to a pocket probably!

Primary: Smith 304SC .357 mag. Secondary: NAA mini-revolver in .22 mag. I'm going to add a Kel-Tec P-3AT, when they get into distribution.

I personally have three carry guns...
Primary carry is an HK USP .45 Compact
Backup to the HK is an S&W 340PD
Or in hot weather/light carry requirements,
Primary carry is the S&W 340PD
Backup to the S&W is a Beretta 21A in .25 ACP
Mix and match as necessary.

Never carried a revolver and nearly alwas carry a P32 so I guess that narrows down my answer. A few months after the 380 KelTec comes out, I will get one of those I'm sure.
Generally, I carry a stainless Springfield that's been lightly customized, mostly so it doesn't draw blood from the sights. :p Lately I've been carrying a 38 Super Commander. Needs a bit more work, the trigger is a tad too sharp (was customized by a left handed smith/carrier), a bit smoother trigger pul and I'd like a Trijicon front sight installed.

just picked up a Kahr MK40 for that exact purpose. just as much, if not more, power than a j-frame snubbie, but it's flatter and doesn't hurt to shoot.

I carry a 1-1/8" barrel NAA "mini" in .22 magnum.
Quite comfortable for all day carry in front pants pocket!

(The following sentence is meant as a joke and only as a joke. I like either type, just trying to get a laugh.)
Wow, neck and neck voting... always thought in this day and age, there would be a lot more autoloader votes. Must have a lof of older folk voting! :D

...in my case, S&W 642.
I personally believe that a snub revolver is not as obtrusive as a mini-9 or .380 in a pocket, 'cuz the autos all seem to have sharp corners, straight lines and square angles that, to me at least, scream, "GUN!!!" By contrast, a snub .38, especially in a pocket holster, looks like a non-descript lump, which doesn't seem to be as obviously gun-shaped because of its round, curvy shape.
Also, I have trouble getting semi-autos out of my pocket, because those corners always seem to snag on the way out - grip tang, magazine floorplate, rear sight, hammer spur, slide stop, magazine release, they all seem to hang-up at one point or another. Whereas a small wheelgun just slides out effortlessly for me, each and every time.
That said, I'm still saving my box-tops for the new Kel-Tec P3AT!

I've carried both over the years. Beretta 21A for many years. S&W Model 36 currently.

The P32 disapears in a pocket and is perfect for those times when no gun is proper but you may need it anyway.

During the last 25 years I have owned the following small autos:
Browning Baby .25,
German Walther PPK .380,
US Walther PPK .380 stainless (2),
Colt prewar Pocket .380,
Colt Government Model .380 (2),
Colt Government Model .380 Pocketlight (2),
Colt Pocket 9,
Detonics .45 (2) (for BIG pockets),
and probably several others that I can't remember. NONE of those guns could go 200 rds without some kind of malfunction, even with careful cleaning after breakin, and then some remedial gunsmithing.
On the other hand, I've owned at least a half-dozen S&W J-frame snubbies, none of them have EVER failed to fire if I pulled the trigger hard enough.
My carry gun is a Browning HiPower that, like most new HP's, is completely reliable. My pocket gun is currently a S&W 340PD, and you can bet that it will never be an auto.
Your Mileage May Vary, but that's the way it has been for me.
