Post talking points in this thread. I like the stat that said Texas cops were more likely to be convicted of crimes then Texas CCW's (but can't remember where I read it) .
Pointing out that denying CCW leaves many Moms and women at the mercy of stalkers and murdering rapist.
That handguns are the most effective tool for dealing with all predators,not just the four legged ones.

I believe the tip lines are staffed by LEO volunteers. I know of one FBI Special Agent who worked one fairly recently.

That's my thinking -- I don't want to bombard the phone lines. AMW is a -good- thing (or at least not bad) and this Walsh guy does have his heart in the right place -- he's just on the wrong side of the issue.

I'm not so sure Walsh has his heart in the right place honestly.....but I'm not so sure us jamming the phone lines is the best method. I think an organized letter writing campaign or email chain or online petition is much better. We really don't want to do anything that could even be PERCEIVED as compromising the show's ability to filter through and take calls that may have tips on disappearances and/or the whereabouts of dangerous criminals.

If you google "John Walsh 2nd Amendment"
You will be amazed at the amount of tripe he has
spouted about CCW and the 2nd Amendment.
Yet he has claimed to be able to carry in all 50 states,I have no way of verifying this but I remember the show.
Last week he was filming the US Marshalls in Chicago so maybe
his cozy relationship with them got him "Deputized" like the politicians that carry in DC allegedly are.
Anyone have info on that?

Well, I just now called 'em. To my amazement I actually got through -- I mean someone alive actually answered the phone.

But the whole situation was a little confused. She said the line was just for taking tips about wanted fugitives, not for lodging protests or anything. However, she listened politely and said she'd pass along my question -- "What have you got against people being able to defend themselves when the police aren't around?" -- to John Walsh. Oh, she also denied that there was any truth to the story that Walsh has bragged that he can *legally* carry a concealed weapon in all 50 states. She said she knew for a fact that he *never* carried any sort of weapon. I told her it was okay with me if he carried *two*, but that it should be his choice whether to go armed or not, and it should be *my* choice as well.

But who should I believe? Would she even necessarily know? Anyway, I got my two cents in, for whatever that was worth.

I can't remember what episode I recall him claiming to allways carrying a handgun,but if you google 2nd amendment and John Walsh,you will see an eyefull.

You can call 24-7 from what I understand.

I just dialed up the CrimeTV number and had John's own recorded voice tell me that operators would be right with me.

You also have the other phone numbers which will be useful come Monday morning as well as the e-mails 24-7.
