www.ammoman.com has 115, 124 &115+P+ GoldDots on sale for $89 per 500 and $159 per 1000. It's the reclassified stuff from the recall. But it's a great price for SD practice ammo

Thanks for the heads-up, I was about to pay more ordering from Sportsman's Guide.

Good price - bear in mind, however, that it is only for practice use, not carry ammo. Reclassified, and all that.

At that price, I'm going to HAVE to get some.

Even if it is just for practice.

What's the nature of the recall/reclassification?

G9MMH 9mm 124gr JHP+P, $12.50 for 50, $24.50 for 100 $240.00 for 1000, 1200 fps

www.georgia-arms.com Shear Power Plus, made with Gold Dot bullets.

I've been shooting their excellent ammo for years. They have tables at every major gun show here.

When I talked to Speer about their "reclassified" ammo, the tech support person I talked to said it's basically a lot of ammo that has failed to meet the specific velocity requirements of a contract.

IOW, the 124gr +P ammo may have chronographed at 1200 fps rather than the 1250 fps, so they sell it to dealers.

There is nothing wrong with the ammo, and there is certainly no reason not to carry it as self-defense ammo.

I bought a bunch from Milwall a year or so ago when they had it for about $7/box of 50 and all of it I've shot has been flawless.

James

Second vote for Georgia Arms.

Their price for NEW Gold Dot loaded ammo is about half of what you pay for Speer or Proload.

Extremist: Thanks. I shot about 1000 rounds of this stuff through my 228 awhile back. Never had a problem with it.
