Uncle Don May 15, 2004, 11:24 PM So, you're saying you want to steal a copy. Bet you consider yourself an honest person though. Don Hkmp5sd May 15, 2004, 11:50 PM Assorted Free and Demo Ballistic and Reloading Software (http://www.stevespages.com/page8b.htm) Selected Spreadsheets For Ballistic Functions (http://www.stevespages.com/spreadsheets.html) The site has lots of other firearm related information. Wildalaska May 15, 2004, 11:56 PM Thanks Hk! So, you're saying you want to steal a copy. Bet you consider yourself an honest person though. Who said I wanted to steal anyhting...all I was asking as to who has one... Im an informant, not a thief...feel better now Uncle "First Post is solely for the Purpose of critising Some One Else" Don WildantitrustAlaska Chuck Dye May 16, 2004, 03:38 AM Back in the days of The Firing Line, Gryphon (http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=121112) solicited input for his run at a program. I never saw any results. Perhaps it is time for a nudge. JNewell May 16, 2004, 04:40 AM There is some description of the use of the RCBS.Load software on the RealGuns (http://www.realguns.com) site. It seems to have some great functions. There are some online ballistic programs that will calculate just ballistic issues, not help with load management. I am not on my home computer right now, so I don't have the bookmark. I believe there's a similar function on the Remington site, but I've never used it. I have used these to figure out, with a load of given performance, where I want the POI at 100 yds (longest range I have easy access to) to give me the correct zero. strambo May 18, 2004, 07:16 PM This is my favorite online ballistics site. Haven't seen fit to buy my own software yet... http://www.eskimo.com/~jbm/ballistics/traj_basic/traj_basic.html JohnK May 18, 2004, 08:23 PM It depends on how complex or indepth the software you want is, I have one that calculates trajectory, energy, drift ect on my site, no graphs but its fast. http://www.handloads.com/calc/ FAL_Freak May 19, 2004, 10:20 PM My favorite is Point Blank. It's completely free and makes a nice addition to any reloader's collection. Has bullet tables with all sorts of info. Stores your loads in a database along with any group size info you enter. Very slick and has a bunch of other calculators built in as well. Take a peek and or download it here: http://www.huntingnut.com/pointblank.html Wildalaska May 20, 2004, 02:02 AM Thanks guys! pahrumpcaveman May 21, 2004, 08:41 PM I have Quick Load and find it very helpful. It has a large cartridge and bullet data base to chose from . Even has bullet data for cast bullets . Just scroll down and find the mould manufacture . I can try different charge weights and powder types and see what velocity it will give . It's often within 100 fps or so . It does so much I could go on and on . If your in the market for ballistic software I highly recommend you check it out . I'm glad I spent a few extra $ and got it instead of the others . kernal_panic May 22, 2004, 10:13 PM really nifty program but i'll have to roll my pennies for the $150 it costs! hps1 May 23, 2004, 11:41 PM For calculating trajectories, etc, I like: http://www.norma.cc/htm_files/javapagee.htm (http://www.norma.cc/htm_files/javapagee.htm) Regards, hps Lancel May 26, 2004, 04:24 AM RCBS.load is not the most user friendly but it's powerful and stable with many useful features. It also includes free upgrades. Larry Matt Dillon May 28, 2004, 11:49 AM I like the Sierra Infinity Suite, it has a great ballistics program as well as reloading data.
