Just picked one of these up for at the show. Busted grip, got a replacement. Just wanna know how they have been working out for those that have them opinions etc. Mine has some surface rust I need to remedy, but it is a pretty cool little package. Thanks.:)

Mine has been reliable for over 30 years.

I put 50 rounds of Remington Yellow Jackets through it at the range last month. It is still accurate to Minute of Chinet at 20 feet rapid fire.

I am looking for a set of black grips for mine.
Also looking for one of the old wallet holsters mine finally word out after 25 years.

Someday I'll pick up a .22 magnum version.

I had the opportunity to buy a 22 mag.version when the LSP quit issueing them as backup weapons. That was over 25 years ago and it still does the job it was designed for. I always have room on my person to hide it and haing seen the damage a 22 mag round does to human flesh at close range, I wouldn't like to be on the receiving end of it.

I had the .22 mag version with the wallet.
Mine was shot little - carried a lot.

It broke, with min firing, fixed- broke again...Neat concept, It didn't like me. That is ok, some folks don't, some other guns don't, Murphy happens...odds on a sear breaking in a Kriegoff is what...happened to me.

BluesBear I have not forgotton you - IF...IF and when I find them parts you need - I'll holler. :)

If one is looking for something it will elude you - If you want to find something , don't look for it...and be broke. :)

Thanks for the input guys. Well see, I took the thing totally apart, a bit of an endeavor, it was filthy inside. I think I am goin' to try and refinish this one myself.

Blues, mine is the .22 Mag. As far as what it is worth- I have seen them all over the place from about 125.00 to 250.00.

Yeah, for a DM-101 (magnum) the going rate out here is about $225-$250.
I'd gladly pay $125 for a couple of them.

I think the wallet holster may be difficult to find, and illegal to use (if it's like the one I had back in the 70's). If it's the type that allowed access to the trigger while the derringer was encased in the holster, I believe the BATFE has ruled this converts the derringer into an AOW!:what: At least, that's the reason the folks at North American Arms have given for discontinuing a wallet holster offering this feature for some of their "little guns." Holsters that require the weapon to be drawn prior to being fired are OK.:scrutiny:

I also still have my derringer, purchased in 1978 (I think). It's been fired twice. I bought it, ran a patch through both bores, but didn't inspect them (this will become a factor later in this post), headed out back, stuffed a pair of W-W magnums in it, aimed at a can about 7 yards away, and fired the first barrel. OW! The can was untouched, but my hand stung. Curiously sharp recoil for a .22WMR, even out of that little beast.

Okay, second barrel; aim & squeeze. OW! Something is definitely not right. Well, two things aren't right: my hand hurts; the can remains untouched!

Unload; extraction is pretty stiff. Grab patch & cleaning rod, swab bore and inspect. NO RIFLING GROOVES!! :scrutiny: I was pushing a .22 (approx.) bullet out of a significantly undersized bore! That the little critter didn't blow up is a testimony to its inherent strength. I carefully cleaned it, greased the (smooth) bores, placed it and its paperwork back in its factory box, and stored it, where it remains to this day.:D

Had a .22 LR version... (BOY am I sorry I let Dad talk me into selling it to him!)

lotsa fun, reasonably accurate, considering the design and barrel length... (kinda a short range gun)

i want a .22 mag version now!

scbair, somewhere around here, buried in one of my old boxes of excess stuff, I have a High Standard .22 magnum barrel set. I'll be going through all of that next month and I'll let you know if I find them.

Both are .22 Mag. versions, both nickel/chrome plated. One is well worn (my father-in-law-to-be's old boot gun) and the other is near new. I carry the old one in my bibs when I mow or work on the farm. They are SERIOUS loud. I like shooting them...talk about major trigger pull!
