Gotcher back homes!
My first 870. Bought it brand new the day of my 18th birthday in 1975. Mods include hand polished action for super easy cycling, matt blue, stripped and oil finished stocks, Pachmayer recoil pad, Raybar bead.

Fairly stock - guy locally was selling - just had to take it off his hands! .. and it has three chokes ... one rifled for slug use and a coupla others. This is the ''Special Purpose'' edition 870 Magnum.
Oh and it has rifle sights. Hoping to ''excercize'' it tomorrow with some ass'd 3" shells!

laynlow - hey dude .. you gotta do better than that!:p
OK so ... what is the mag extension and what is the furniture replacement ..... looks overall a good combination. Come on .. spill!:D

Come on .. spill
Lol, ok, ok.
It is a Police Magnum, and came stock with the ghost ring and ramped front sight. The mag extension is a TacStar 3 shot, and I threw in a Wilson Hi-Viz mag follower for good measure. The Surefire forend is a 6 volt variety that I bought NIB at a local gun show for 160. A pretty fair deal me thinks. It also has a Wilson big head safety and a Speedfeed stock with four shell storage. The holders are junk, so they stay empty, but I like the rest of the stock. The side saddle is TacStar as well.
I did an action job on it with some advice from Dave Mc and it runs like a top! :D

Thx dude ... that's a nice stock ... I had thought of a mag extension on mine already - hmmm TacStar 3 eh .. might have to investigate.
Like the whole deal .. of course, way too wicked and black!:D :neener:

Great start, guys. Black_Talon, you hit a homer with those two pictures. You too P95. Beautiful guns you got there.
'Talon, what length barrels do you have on the two guns pictured? I cannot tell if they are 18" or 21".
One last question.... what is the difference between an 870 and an 870P?

Here is the 870 that I picked up for $160. I've since added a Wilson 2rnd extension, High vis follower, and big head safety. Lots of work to do on it still.

Good gosh! What is it with you guys?!
Express grades, riot guns, slug guns...No pretty Wingmasters with vent rib 26" or 28" barrels here? Looks as if the quail, pheasant, and ducks are pretty safe where you live. Only that one Express grade with the longer bbl. looks like a legal hunting shotgun.
I've been looking for a standard 20 ga. Wingmaster for awhile, and all the dealers have is those bland Express guns. And I don't want them to order me one, because I don't want to buy a gun I haven't examined in advance.
Maybe I'll get lucky at a gun show. I kinda like buying guns there, anyway: I figure it gives Hellory Clinton and Sarah Brady heartburn.
Look at me: I am Loophole! Hear me sing! Etc. ...
Looks like I'd better get a cup of coffee and finish waking up.

One last question.... what is the difference between an 870 and an 870P?
The 870PM comes with a parkerized finish, heavier mag and hammer springs, and no dimples in the mag tube. The lack of dimples in the mag tube make it easier to install a mag extension. It also has a metal trigger guard, not plastic.

here's my current setup...870p with walnut furniture, wilson mag ext., and sidedsaddle. although it came with blk synthetic stock and forend and standard capacity, this combination just feels the best to me.

'Talon, what length barrels do you have on the two guns pictured? I cannot tell if they are 18" or 21".
They're both factory 18" bbls. The 1975 gun is cyl, the 870P is Imp cyl.
Lone Star,
Looks as if the quail, pheasant, and ducks are pretty safe where you live
NOT me! :D
[no pheasant here]
No camera/no pics.
Close eyes,...now imagine Blue and Wood shotguns, 28" bbls. "painting them out of the sky". The dove limit is 15, the shooters are allowed 15 shells to enter field, the "pot" is $110..."most birds with less shells" wins the pot... 15 birds, 2 left over shells, I collect the pot...;)
Feel better:p

I cut the barrel down to 18-3/4" myself, and did a crooked job of porting it, but it is fairly effective.

So how are you guys posting photo attachments that show up in the text field also? I saw how to make a reference to a photo in a web page but how do you get a photo from your hard drive to the text field?

Submit the reply with the attachment. Open the attached picture once it shows up in your post. Right-click on the picture and the copy the target address. Edit your message and put "img" and "/img" around the link in brackets instead of the quotes I just put there. Simple.

870 photo needed here please
Glad you asked! I just installed a Police wood stock set today! This was originally an 870 Wingmaster w\26" barrel, original lacquered, checkered wood stocks, 2 shot that my dad gave me. IIRC, he got it at a garage sale a while ago for $150 or so. I coverted it to a home defense gun.:D
Still have the original barrel (in case I decide to take up skeet or trap) and the original stocks.
