I know where to get the CCW holsters I might be interested in.

But what about external wear field holsters? Preferably leather. Something that'll fit a large frame automatic (CZ-97) or a 6" N-Frame revolver (obviously doesn't have to be the same holster). With the holsters I'd like (matching) speedloader and magazine pouches (hey, I don't want to clash). :o

Also, I have a question. How do you wear an external belt holster when wearing a heavy winter parka? I mean, it gets cold here. I have this big goose-down parka that comes down over the belt line, making a typical hip holster difficult to get at. One could break down and wear a GI pistol belt and holster, with ALICE suspenders, I suppose, but I was looking for something a little nicer looking (leather).

The holsters must, of course, be left-handed. I have no desire to force myself into a right handed draw. I make the equipment accomodate me, not the other way around. :cool:

A female friend of mine is looking for a western style gunbelt and and holster. The catch is the revolver in mind is her S&W M28, a 4" N-frame .357 double action. This rig obviously isn't for concealed carry or anything, it's just what she told me she wants and I said I'd check on it.

Check out the Fobus holster line. Just picked up an adjustable paddle holster for my Makarov, and it's great!:D

Each one of them is for a different gun and has been a different kind of holster. IWB, OWB, Revolver, Auto, etc. Their gun list specifically mentions the CZ97B and a bunch of Rugers and S&W's including N frames. The head guy there is Jim Murnak who is a holster maker of some reputation and, above all, is a very nice gentleman. He has been easy to talk to and has been quite willing to incorporate my special wants/needs. I would suggest you to peruse the FIST website (http://www.fist-inc.com/) and see if there is anything there that you like. Call up and discuss it. There is an "800" number listed on the website. Price IMHO has been very reasonable as has delivery time. Hope you find it helpful. Good shooting;)

Check with a local saddlemaker. Any good one worth his roundknife can build a holster to your specs. Quite often they can do it cheaper and better than the known names (Galco, bianchi, etc)

SA Gun Leather (http://www.sagunleather.com/) emailed me back and told me they can make a western rig like above for my petite female friend. They need only her size and they can make the shorter belt at no extra charge.

Seems like a good company to me. I think I just found her birthday present.
