If this article proves to be credible: It was Rumsfeld's authorized program that greatly expanded boundaries (too far). It will be extremely costly. Politically, morally & future wars. The 'good guys' have to draw lines. The Article can be found on www.drudgereport.com It is very detailed & in depth... P.S. I'll still be voting for Bush, but this looks like it will have huge political costs. IF TRUE, Bush needs to fire Rumsfeld.

Seymor Hersch may well be a respected "journalist", but out here in flyover country is is highly suspect.
Anything with the man's name in the byline automatically get a high skeptical grade from me. . . . .and I ain't the only one.

Not him again.
More blood in the water for Rumsfeld's head. The left will behead Rumsfeld as effectively as the terrorists.

The aim is simple: emasculate the military and the war effort. The next step will be for SCOTUS to bring all of the people we're fighting under the umbrella of the American legal system. De facto military gridlock. If ACLU lawyers with World Court handbooks under their arms are going to guide our military action we are dead. I figure this insanity will continue until enough people recognize our survival's at stake--will it take another 9/11?--probably--before there's a major convulsion. I wouldn't be surprised if our military itself splintered in the process.

Long story but in no way does it depart from the "let's gun down this administration" tact media has taken against the Bush presidency.
Nothing really new of major propostions.
So Rummy approved more of a no-holds-barred program!
Not the same thing as stacking up a bunch of necked dudes in a pile or having sex in frort of them. Rummy did not do that, but a few poorly trained reservist MPs did.
No biggy, more of the same we've been listing to for weeks now.

This is yesterday's news in flyover country. Hersch, like Kerry thinks the accolades accorded him by liberal sycophants from the entitlement zones makes him "the voice of the people"

First, I'll declare a reference point for myself... Two years into Clinton's FIRST administration - I wanted to see him impeached. In this context, I wasn't concerned about bimbos &/or 'smoke filled rooms' politics. He was overtly destroying peoples lives via federal agents & powers. /// Now, are we going to be 'good guys' or not? WHERE are the lines of same behavior? I am very interested in the opinions here. /// IF Rumsfeld's authorizations went 'well' outside the Geneva Conventions the following is likely: A. Our own, when captured will get worse treatment yet - largescale. B. We will 'fuel the flames' of Islamic culture (where the moderates seemingly will not voice their opinion now!). C. A big increase in our opposition, that will die before being captured & tortured... might be a bit more dangerous. D. ...we are teaching by example...!!! /// "Boundaries": Sleep deprivation & loud noises are within one boundary; sexual intimidations/blackmail another; orgies & rape another; overt tortures & death another yet /// The clearest dramatic example I have encountered: In the movie, "Apocalypse Now" - when the VC cut off the kids arms because they were immunized by Americans - YOU HAVE LOST THE WAR (whether you 'win' it or not) when you use such tactics. Our own colonel who went crazy at that point and embraced same tactics - 'lived' over the boundaries AND had to be taken out. /// Where are the lines?
