In case I need to take on an old engine block in the desert.

And what is a good price?

You're just a day too late. This guy was selling some, in Garand clips, no less:
http://www.gunboards.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=43524

He had 56 rounds for $40, delivered, or 71 cents/round.

That link above is a really good deal.

The problem I've found with bullets of this nature is (at least with the lot I have) they are really un-uniform when it comes to weight. I measured over a hundred of them and they ranged from 159 to just over 168.

Assuming that one has gotten some of the Black Tips, can anyone suggest a load that would approximate the GI round in a .30-06 M1?

Thanks

Drue
