Having just worn mine for the first time yesterday, I asked myself the same question. Answer: the thigh pockets (but then I've got gorilla arms and can get to them easy).

Addendum: I at first put off buying these because of the "follow the trend" and "wannabe" baggage, but I gotta say, these are the most comfortable pants I've ever owned. I've always been a jeans guy, but I'm ordering another pair or two of these.

That's what I was thinking, the cargo pocket. I wish they would have made normal rear pockets though.

I have THE wallet (http://www.onestopknifeshop.com/store/spec-ops-the-wallet.html) and it's suffciently big to be able to reach easily, even with the hugh pockets on my 5.11 pants. It also fits regular pockets, but it's a tight squeeze.

I throw mine in the right rear pocket (right handed). It works for me, but then its only 5/8" thick (tri-fold; I'm a wallet nazi, only cash, two unused checks, membership cards and ID stay in it for more than 24 hours).

I just position it fully under my thigh when I sit down, and when standing my fingertips can touch the bottom seam of the pockets without moving my shoulders.

I carry my wallet in the right front cargo pocket, cell phone in the cell phone pocket, money in the right front pocket and keys in the left front pocket. Knife is clipped on the right front pocket. and belt holds Surefire, mag and Kimber. I don't even use the back pockets! :)

My config:
Cellphone in cellphone pocket
Chapstick and keys in right front (keys with short leader and caribeener clipped to the caribeener strap)
Wallet back right.
Comb back left, knife clipped to the low point of the same (so only the clip is visible).
Pen clipped to bottom of left front, hankerchef, small piece of paper and everything else go in same.

Cargo pockets are kept empty unless I'm carrying my MP3 player, then it goes in the left one.

I have the same problem. Wallet in back pocket ends up in middle of my thigh when seated. Very uncomfortable to me. I now carry it in the right cargo pocket.

I carry mine in the back pocket, but I make sure my wallet is on the right side of the pocket, so when I sit down, the wallet is more upright, than me sitting on it. Hard to explain. Also the wallet is a Spec Ops Brand The Wallet, not a small thing. Just got used to it.

When traveling heavy:

Front left: S&W J-frame (sometimes)

Front right: Fox labs 2 oz can, conventional fixed blade knife (if no Karambit)

Cell phone pocket: Cell phone (duh)

Rear right: Karambit

Rear left: Wallet

Right cargo: first aid kit

Left cargo: empty dump pouch (change, receipts, trash, etc)

I don't like carrying anything in the cargo pockets; I don't like getting used to things down there since 4 days of the week I don't wear cargo pants.

Left front pocket. Never carry wallet in rear pocket, no matter what I'm wearing.
Standard setup is:
Fox Labs 2oz in right cargo pocket, blue Delica clipped to pocket; Surefire g2 and Cross pen in 'cellphone' pocket; Photon LED light on D-ring; Spare car keys, kept together with rubber band, cellphone, and another blue Delica in left cargo pocket; Couple other things here and there...

I was thinking of getting a couple of pairs of these, how do the waist sizes run? I have read that they run a little big.

They have an elastic band so they stretch a little. I wear a 34 in non-tactical street clothes. A 32 in these pants fits me pretty good while the 34 feels too big. Your mileage may very. To the best of my knowledge they do not make odd sizes.

I carry my wallet in the left side cargo pocket. i did do back left pocket for a while, but have now shifted all my stuff so the back pockets stay empty except for reciepts and pieces of paper I seem to accumulate every day.
