ARMORER

Wackenhut Services Inc. a prime contractor for the Department of Energy (DOE) has an immediate opening for a full time Armorer at Fort Chaffee, (Ft Smith) AR.

The selected candidate will assist in the overall operation of the TSTS Armory. Will be responsible for the general maintenance and repair, issue and return of weapons and all related equipment and ammunition at TSTS.

The position requires the following: 2 years Military Armorer experience or Gunsmith degree, the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance, drug and alcohol testing, HS diploma or equivalent, computer literate, and the ability to travel. A CDL with HAZMAT endorsement is a plus.

My brother is a Marine Reservist. He is in motor t, and has a CDL with HAZMAT. He got the hazmat endorsment so he could drive the ammo trucks.

There is a Gunsmith school about an hour away from me in Pine City, MN. I have thought about going to school up there. That would be a very interesting job, but I would need to go to gunsmithing school.
