I'm looking for a holster for my 7 1/2" Colt New Service. Plenty around for the 5 1/2" barrel. Anyone have a 7 1/2" barrel New Service? What are you packin' it in? I have tried the same holster my M29 fits and the Colt's frame is larger. Just looking for some commercial made holster that it will fit, nothin' fancy. Thanks.

Ruger frame size is about right. The Vaquero hosters for a western look. GP-100 in a belt holster. The bottom would need to be open. I use cheap Triple K Cheyenne western style holsters myself. They have the drop, a skirt, hammer thong and leg tiedown. They also snap on and off of a belt easily.

Josey,
I give a vaquero holster a try. Thanks for the response.

The holster bottom doesn't need to be open! Just order from El Paso Saddlery or someone else who understands older Colts and get the holster that you want.
They have many designs like those that might have gone with that Colt back when it was made!

I carry a 7 1/2" barrel New Service on a daily basis -- I made my own holster. It's not difficult.
