Oh my god there's been no post in the revolver forum for the brief time I've been gone to town? What are you slackers doing? Have you answered every wheel gun question there is? Has everyone out and bought an automatic ;) ?

Ok...for real. Where can one purchase a 625 in 45 long colt? Can they be found new in the box or has it been several years since they made one?

I'm really looking hard at the 25 w/ the wooden grips to compliment my ruger vaquero so when I feel like hand ejecting. But, I think I would prefer the stainless version.

So...anyone awake? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

The local S&W pusher, Southeastern Guns in Trussville, Alabama, still has one of the last production run 625 Mountain Guns in .45 Colt made for the Banger's distributers a year or so back for $559 with Ahrend's wood grips. They also have 5% ST. Have your dealer check with Banger's for current availability. It originally came with a S&W pocket knife as well (A friend bought one last year.). My earlier 625MG was only ~$30 less - and, after I bought some decent wood grips, I had spent more! The Banger's is a good version (I like wood grips!).

Now - a warning. Thin-walled, the 625MG's cylinders should not be fed anything over mediocre rounds. Sadly, with 'Cowboy loads', mine will outshoot any Ruger I have. Just clean/lube, break-in, clean/lube the 625 before you consider a spring change. Mine has about the best 'stock' trigger I have ever felt. Good luck!

PS If Banger's is out, Southeastern Guns has a website...

Cylinder and Slide has 45LC cylinders for sale too if you happen to have a 625 already.
