My son owns an SKS and having shot it several times, I'm really impressed. The thing's a real beater and it still shoots beautifully.

I think my son paid $125 for one with a bayonet, wood and folding stocks, and two 30-round mags.

I'd also like to pick up a cheap one something like my son's

Any tips as to where to look for a bargain (and what to possibly avoid?)

Thanks.................

You can purchase a Yugo SKS in shooter grade condition from AIM for 109 shipped. The reports that I've been getting have been favorable. They are more like VG+ condition.

If you don't have access to a FFL, then you're best bet is at a gunshow. Expect to pay around 150ish.

Good Luck!

I'd get one in excellent shape while they're cheap. My $109.00 Aim Yugo special will be a great rifle im sure, but came in with at least a third of the bluing gone.Thats what i expected so i wasnt disappointed.A lot of wholesalers have excellent ones for about $140.00

If you want to be able to pre-select to get just what you want, check Alan's Armory (http://www.allans-armory.com/yugo.html) . The prices might be slightly higher than at SOG, AIM, CDNN, Century etall, but each rifle is described individually and you can pick the one that meets your needs.

Just cleaned up my second UNISSUED Yugo(Inter Ord) last night-----dealer here in town is offering them for $169=$180.83 out the door with sales tax----with all accessories.

Both are absolutely BEAUTIFUL and in pristine condition----any scratches or wear marks came from yours truely.

If you can't find a dealer that has them where you live---get a copy of the Shotgun News and order one in. I would get the unissued one---because for a few more bucks---you are getting a brand new rifle. The Yugo's are a great deal right now.

Does anyone know if any or all of those are California approved? (yeah, I know :fire: ). I know the fliers from AIM specifically say "CA legal" or "No sales to CA" for each gun.

Inter Ord says they have Yugo SKS's for the Kali market----$25 more.

You definitely want a Yugo. Mine came from IO. It's a real beauty and quite the tackdriver. My stock is Teakwood. A real beauty.

Thanks. Checked 'em out. Not the greatest, but at one-tenth the price of an M1A, and not much other choice, they're looking like an acceptable alternative.

The Yugos are approved for sale in the Prk . As long as they dont have the Grenade Launcher on it ,Prk has declared that version a Destructive Device.
