I want to make up some light loads using 100 gr. Speer plinkers and 2400 for a .308 bolt gun. Anybody got an idea for a starting load. I'm thinking somewhere in the 15-16 gr. area. Mainly want to pop cans at 100yds. Any help would be appreciated.
TIA

20 to 25 grains is no problem. 15 or 16 will give a fairly balloon-like trajectory.
My experience, based on a usual 2" high at 100 yards setting on my scope, is that the 20-grain load will hit approximately 15" or 18" low at 100 yards.
