Greeting's All,

I guess I got a bargain, cuz my 5" Smith & Wesson
629 "Classic" cost me $509.95 + 8% sales tax; but
that was back in July of 2000.

www.jgsales.com has the 6.5" Power Port version for $479. They are advertising a lot of S&Ws as 'below wholesale'.

Here's Gun Finder's price for the 6.5" Classic. $647 plus...

www.gunfinder.net/getprice/index_handguns.shtml

They have a few different variations in stock and price varys accordingly.

IE: the Classic DX is $775, retail $971.

You guys are gettin' some good deals. Might have to have you do my shoppin' for me.

Ala Dan - I bought mine in Nov. 2000 - a 6.5" Classic - for $520 +5% tax. The prices I saw at the last major show I attended (Jan 03)still had them priced well below $600.

Unless the prices have increased significantly recently and the guns I saw were bought prior to the price increase and priced accordingly.
