Dunno about that green plastic thing, but anybody else notice the boxes of Federal American Eagle ammo on the table?

That puts the word bling in bling bling.

Just a guess ? Nightvision scope with illuminator ?

I shoot with a guy that has an MP5 that looks like it is nickel. I never asked about it but it looks cool.

Is this a military photo, or just some guys dressed up ?

Our guys in the sandbox picked these up from Iraqis.

Ok, I wasn't sure.
They all look real clean and the guy on the extreme left is wearing kakki pants. Then the civilian ammo.
Of course they might be using civilain ammo because they are afraid to use the stuff they pcked up for fear it has been boobytrapped.

There is another thread about the .223 shortage the military currently is experiencing. Federal is probably shipping anything and everything it has in FMJ to the military.
That is a NVD with illuminator on the 2nd one down. Nice:cool:
That chrome AK is rather plain compared to this one:

I may be all wrong on this, but that ammo looks like pistol ammo. The box isn't tall enough to be rifle ammo. Or maybe I am just looking at what appears to be styrofoam in the back right and the red boxes have rifle ammo packaged sideways to the printing on the end of the box. Or maybe (likely) I don't know what I am talking about and should just shut up.

Also, the AK in the top picture looks like it is nickeled or hard chromed. The one in the second picture looks like regular chrome.

You know, I've read the original thread, and I don't think anybody here is entirely sure. that's part of the joke;)

Unless I am mistaken, a guy made a post awhile ago that was a satire about gunshows: the people you see there, the stuff being displayed and/or sold. The post was funny. And in this post, about every other sentence was some guy walking up to him and asking him if his AK had da'switch.
To me, it was obvious that the guy was talking about an illegal modifcation to select fire. In other words idiots at gunshows kept walking up to him and asked him if his AK had da'switch.

Maybe Saddam only trusted his security goons with flash supressors!:p

Yeah, I've read the whole gunshow comedy thread before. I just never knew what "da switch" was.

I guess it must be a select-fire switch.

444,

Looks like pistol ammo to me too. Magazine seems small in that guy's hands for it to be a rifle magazine.

Federal's rifle ammo comes packed (at least the stuff I have) in plastic strips. When you slide the out of a box they're horizontal to the table that they're setting on. The .223 stuff is nice and handy as it comes in 10 round strips and I can easily yank 5 rounds off at a time with my small paws. Same way Wolf 7.62x54 is shipped.

Pistol ammo is verticle and mounted in stryofome holders -- which is what that stuff looks like.

J. David Phillips aka Flim-Flam is one of my Internet hero.. :) He owns a pawn shop in Florida.

I like his writing style, always very entertaining. I read most of his post on rec.guns.

Thanks for sharing.

41mag,

Most AK-47's don't have flash suppressors like you would see on an M14 or M16. They usually had a slant compensator or just a muzzle nut. The chrome AK and AK with sighting system of some sort have muzzle nuts. I can't really tell if the other two have muzzle nuts or nothing at all. Most AK-74s have a muzzle brake. Almost all of the Krinkov style AK’s have a flash suppressor.

You know, I actually almost kinda like that AK. It's not too flashy being battle worn and all, but the wood looks great with the silver. Too bad it probably looks worse than most of the bubba'd guns posted here in person, looks like the finish(spray paint?) is already coming off on the gas tube and front site.

The furniture on the chrome AK is NICE! What's the deal on those/ Were they special "gifts" to special followers?

Da Switch? Check.
The envy of every gunshow attendee? You betcha. :D

Obviously it is the sideways sight, for home-boy style shooting, ala Birdman sights.
