Would this compromise reliability?

This may sound like a stupid question but I have never had any custom work done on any gun at all.

I have a stainless Colt Commander, enhanced version, that has been 100% reliable right out of the box that I have owned for many years. I would like to have a new trigger and a real beavertail put on it. This is strictly a range gun that only sees fmj ammo through it so I'm not interested in any other modifications. I would like this done for both appearance and handling features. The gunsmith I have been talking to comes very highly recommended in this area and has worked on a number of competition shooters' guns. Could these basic modifications affect the reliability of an otherwise excellent gun?

I'd be very suprised, if they were properly installed. The gun doesn't know the difference between a regular grip safety and a big paddly one, so long as it engages correctly.

Go ahead and get the mods. If done right, they shouldn't affect reliability in the slightest.

And if its not a carry gun, reliability is not a CRITICAL issue.

(As noted, properly fitted, reliability shouldn't be affected.)

Properly fitted it WILL NOT affect the operation of the gun.
