Banana robber gets time

Lynchburg, Virginia-AP -- Yes, he had a banana -- and now he'll have to pay.

A Lynchburg, Virginia, man who robbed a convenience store by pretending a banana in his pocket was a gun has been sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Patrick Mann says he was trying to finance a crack cocaine addiction that cost him 300 dollars a day.

He entered a 7-Eleven store last July Fourth, took a banana, put it in his pocket like a gun and demanded money.

He made off with about ten dollars.

Earlier he had broken into another shop where he had worked, and stole about 700 dollars.

His sentence includes time for both crimes.

The judge also ordered him to pay back the money he stole and get substance abuse treatment.

See, this is why gun control is so important. It keeps idiots like this from getting removed from the gene pool... :scrutiny:
