"The First Steps To Homeland Security"???

With all these news reports about our "high" threat level, I've been thinking about homeland security.

After reading an interesting article on www.newsmax.com about how federal undercover agents were able to enter the USA with fake IDs, I started to think that perhaps the first steps in our homeland security plan should be:

1 -- Properly securing our borders perhaps with the military, AND

2 -- Better checks, and security, on official IDs

If illegal immigrants can buy a set of decent looking phony IDs (including a driver's license, S/S card, green card, etc.) for a $100 or so, think what a determined terrorist could, and would, do!:what:

Here is the link to the article on fake IDs:

It seems to me if we can keep out the "bad guys" in the first place, maybe we won't have to worry so much about acts of terrorism taking place within our borders.

At least, this seems more logical to me then a 3 day supply of food/water and a role of duct tape as our defense against terrorism!:cuss:

Just my 2 cents...
