wife and I will be passing through New mexico. I know they wont recognize our CCP and that open carry is legal. If we open carry will we be harrassed? is there anyway they can charge us with disorderly conduct or disturbing the peace? we will pretty much be in the north east part of the state.
also, i wear a milt sparks VM@ is wearing it with the grip exposed open carry? only the barrel would be concealed.

I believe it is still legal in New Mexico to carry a concealed, unloaded firearm. Unloaded means no mag in or round in the chamber. So you could carry your mag in a belt pouch.

Beware, though. Lots of New Mexico is federal land, with its own weird universe of rules.

When I pass thru NM, I just pull my shirt up and tuck it behind the grip to expose the upper half of the pistol. After I pass the border I pull the shirt back over the weapon.

I have stopped in Lordsburg, Deming and Las Cruscis (Sp) and got gas, food and the can with no ill effects.
